Alisha Tillery

Alisha Tillery is Vice President of Public Relations, Research and Engagement. Her past work experience includes nearly 20 years of agency and nonprofit communications experience, including supervising teams and landing media placements for clients in mainstream outlets, such as ABC News and EBONY Magazine. Leading multiple award-winning integrated communications projects for college and universities and regional public works organizations, she was also named Executive of the Year by the Public Relations Society of America – Memphis Chapter in 2022.

Tillery’s experience also includes nearly 10 years as an adjunct professor at the University of Memphis and freelance writing and journalism. Her writing has appeared in Smithsonian Magazine, Shondaland by Shonda Rhimes and others. 

Alisha earned her undergraduate degree in journalism from Southern University A & M College and her graduate degree in communications from Louisiana State University. 

She enjoys reading, spending time with her family and supporting HBCU marching bands. Alisha serves the community as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and volunteer work at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Teri Del Rosso, Ph.D.

Dr. Teri Del Rosso is a research-driven communication strategist specializing in community engagement and strategic communications. As the Director of Research and Engagement at KQ Communications, she leads a newly established department (est. 2023) and oversees research initiatives and strategic outreach efforts. With a focus on data-driven decision-making, she has successfully designed and implemented research strategies for KQ’s diverse clients base, leveraging surveys, focus groups, interviews, social listening, and community insights to drive measurable impact.

With a background in higher education, Teri has mentored students and led public relations campaigns as a faculty member at the University of Memphis and Bridgewater State University. She earned her master’s degree in media studies at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and her doctorate in media studies from the School of Journalism & Communication at the University of Oregon.

A loyal sports fan, Teri has collected teams to cheer for across the country as she’s moved throughout her career (Go Packers, Orange, Ducks, Grizzlies, and USWNT!). When she’s not cheering for her teams, she likes to go on walks, explore new destinations, and will always order the mussels, soft pretzel or crème brûlée if it’s on the menu.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Director of Digital Marketing & Social Media is responsible for developing and executing integrated digital marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, audience engagement, and measurable results for KQ Communications and its clients. This role combines social media leadership, digital marketing knowledge, and content innovation, ensuring that all digital efforts align with business objectives.

Reporting to the Vice President of Digital Services, the Director oversees digital campaigns, leads a video-first content strategy, manages performance analytics, and integrates AI-assisted content development to optimize efficiency. They will also mentor and manage a team of social media and content-creating professionals, ensuring high-impact execution across platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Digital Strategy

  • Develop and execute integrated digital marketing strategies that drive engagement and conversions across social and web.
  • Oversee social media crisis response strategies and best practices for managing brand reputation online.
  • Collaborate with the Public Relations, Creative Services, and Research teams to align digital efforts with broader communication strategies.
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics across social media campaigns and provide strategic recommendations.

Content Strategy & Development

  • Lead a video-first content approach, ensuring 50% of social content includes video components.
  • Guide the creation of high-impact digital content, including short-form videos, interactive media, newsletters, blogs, and ad creatives.
  • Oversee brand storytelling initiatives, ensuring consistency in messaging across all platforms.
  • Implement AI-assisted content ideation, audience segmentation, and automation tools to improve workflow efficiency.

Team Leadership & Innovation

  • Manage and mentor Social Media and Digital team members to drive campaign success.
  • Develop and lead internal training programs on social media best practices, analytics, and AI integration.
  • Stay ahead of emerging digital trends, tools, and platform changes, making strategic recommendations for new opportunities.
  • Standardize content planning, shot lists, and execution workflows to improve efficiency and team productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in digital marketing, social media management, or content strategy.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute multi-channel social media campaigns that drive measurable impact.
  • Expertise in paid media strategy, performance tracking, and audience analytics.
  • Strong project management, organizational, strategic planning, and analytical skills.
  • Experience leading video-first content initiatives and short-form video platforms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts).
  • Proficiency in social media management tools (Hootsuite, Brandwatch,etc.), Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and LinkedIn Ads.
  • Experience integrating AI-driven content strategies and marketing automation tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to work proactively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
