JOB SUMMARY

The Deputy Director of Public Relations supports the PR & Digital Media Directors in managing media relations, public relations, public engagement, crisis communications, social media, and special event planning functions for the firm and its clients. This role is for a results-oriented, experienced, and innovative team member who can deliver measurable media and public relations outcomes, and contribute to the online and overall reputation management of the firm and its clients. This position will contribute to the overall success of the image of the organization and its clients using traditional strategies, measurement, and securing advocates to respond rapidly in a viral environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Manage Senior Account Executives and support their management of junior staff members
  • Manage and support major client projects on behalf of the firm
  • Support the clear directives and training opportunities for the PR team
  • Develop and implement strategic public relations and media relations plans, campaigns and strategies
  • Develop and implement measurable media and public relations strategies and campaigns
  • Develop and share presentations on behalf of the firm and its clients
  • Conduct workshops on public relations or related topics as assigned
  • Knowledge of opportunities, trends, and features in both traditional and social media space
  • Create pitches, news releases, media advisories, talking points, and research to accurately position the firm and its clients
  • Support team in crisis communications situations, working with the KQ leadership team and the media in an accurate and timely manner with disciplined messages
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • BA or BS with 6 to 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience managing a team of two or more
  • APR preferred
  • In-depth understanding of the company’s strategy and direction for the future
  • Ability to think creatively and innovatively
  • Demonstrates initiative, problem-solving and organizational abilities, big picture thinker
  • Strong project management, organizational, strategic planning, analytical, creative and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Approach to work should be proactive, and very detailed-oriented
  • Should also be able to effectively prioritize work and exercise mature judgment

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Required)

SALARY COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
