Seventeen years ago, my partners and I took a leap of faith, originally driven by the desire to support our families, but in turn, driven by a desire to create something meaningful and long-lasting. Today, we have 20+ employees in two offices who collaborate daily to fulfill our mission: doing good work for good people who are making an impact on our community.
We are celebrating year 17 of serving our community, beating the odds, and surpassing stats that say a business like ours shouldn’t still be in business. However, thanks to our trusted clients, partners and team members, we are more than surviving—we are thriving!
Here are seventeen lessons learned from each year in business.
- Anything you invest time and energy in will eventually grow.
- Passion is the most profitable growth strategy.
- I don’t have to like you to learn from you.
- Seek funding before you need it.
- Tell your story. Often.
- If you don’t think you can do it, do it anyway.
- Set your goals higher than you thought possible.
- KQ blue is a color.
- A work culture can have a whole vibe.
- A team takes an organization further than any individual alone.
- If you’ve struggled to make payroll, you’re not the first.
- If you’ve never heard ‘no,’ you’re not asking enough questions.
- If you’re struggling to get something done, no worries; there’s a tool for it! Embrace new technology.
- AI is an ideation go-to.
- Diverse perspectives are critical in any organization.
- If you focus on the needs of others, then your needs will always be met.
- A clear process guides measurable progress.
We thank every person who has been a part of our KQ family as a current or past client or ongoing supporter. We’re inspired to accomplish more than we ever thought possible.
Happy Anniversary, KQ!
